PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The Phillies optioned infielder Freddy Galvis to Lehigh Valley (AAA) on Friday.
The Phillies start a three game series in New York against the Mets Friday night, and a corresponding roster move will be made before the game.
Galvis, in 46 plate appearances with the Phillies, was 2-42 (.048) with two singles and one RBI. Defensively, Galvis was superb, not committing an error in 16 games playing third base, shortstop and second base.
