PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Phillies have officially announced that centerfielder Shane Victorino has been activated off the 15-day disabled list.
To make room for him on the roster, infielder Pete Orr has been optioned to AAA Lehigh Valley.
Victorino had been out with a thumb injury, which cost him an appearance in the All-Star Game. He went 4-8 during a two-game rehab stint with AA Reading.
For the season with the Phillies, Victorino is hitting .303 with nine home runs and 24 runs batted in.
Victorino and the Phillies are in Chicago tonight to take on the Cubs.
